THE COMPLETE AND ADVANCED LUMBAR SPINE AND PELVIS 2019 Run in conjunction with the APA, this course is designed to advance participant's clinical reasoning and competency in the advanced assessment, differential diagnosis and management of the lumbar spine and pelvis. Course content encompasses a complete and comprehensive review of assessment and management paradigms. It will integrate the latest research, be presented within the context of advanced clinical reasoning, with the highest levels of clinical competence. Participants will be engaged with an advanced approached to assessment and management of lumbp-pelvic conditions that will consolidate and build on previous knowledge using interactive clinical reasoning. Complex cases and patient demonstrations will be used to illustrate the clinical reasoning processes in the assessment and management of complex lumbar and pelvic pain patient presentations, covering manual therapy, activity and exercise approaches. Presented by three specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapists with appointments at Curtin, Sydney and Macquarie Universities, participants engaged in interactive education by educators with the highest clinical, teaching and research expertise. Over the three days, participants will be expected to: • Day One: Cover differential diagnosis, evidence based practice, advanced manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription for acute low back pain, based on a clinical reasoning framework. • Day Two: Improve their ability to assess, differentially diagnose and manage acute and chronic pelvic girdle pain, using an advanced clinical reasoning tool. • Day Three: Integrate clinical reasoning into the assessment and differential diagnosis, sub-classification and management of chronic lumbar spine and pelvic disorders at an advanced level. |
